President & CEO
Jim Litterer, president and chief executive officer, took on his current role at Canon Medical Informatics in October 2015. As president, he presides over all operations within Canon Medical Informatics. Prior to his current position, Mr. Litterer served as vice president of operations where he was responsible for global sales operations, all aspects of customer services and information technology. Since joining the company in May 2002, he has held several roles, including field implementation engineer, customer support manager, director of customer support and senior director of services. Prior to his employment at Canon Medical, he helped build global customer support operations as a services operations analyst at Stellent, Inc. Mr. Litterer received his Bachelor of Science in management and information systems from Iowa State University.
Chief Financial Officer
Ryan Thorvilson, chief financial officer, joined Canon Medical Informatics in March 2006 as the senior manager of financial reporting. Since that time, he has held positions of increasing responsibility, including director of finance and accounting and vice president of finance, accounting and human resources. Prior to joining Canon Medical, he was the controller at Optical Solutions and a senior associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Thorvilson holds a Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Business Administration, accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
EVP Modality Solutions and Operations
Stephen (Steve) Andersen, general manager HII & executive vice president (EVP), International, joined Canon Medical Informatics, Inc. in May 1999. As general manager, HII, Mr. Andersen directs the HII team in Japan and provides an overall product strategy. As the EVP of International, he manages all aspects of Canon Medical’s businesses outside of North America, including driving business growth through Canon Medical’s international teams and channel partners. He has held the role of vice president in the following disciplines: strategic partnerships, sales operations, engineering, European sales, quality/regulatory and customer support. Prior to joining Canon Medical, he was program manager and business development manager for Internet technologies at LodgeNet Entertainment and held technical support positions in the banking and telecommunications industries at Precision Computer Systems and Martin & Associates. Mr. Andersen holds a Bachelor of Arts from Augustana College in South Dakota.
Sharon Zehe is the General Counsel at Canon Medical Informatics, Inc. In her role, she is responsible for legal and regulatory compliance across the organization. She has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry as a lawyer and business leader. Sharon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, and obtained her law degree from Mitchell Hamline College of Law.
Chief Technology Officer
Tim Dawson, chief technology officer, joined Canon Medical Informatics, Inc. in June 2010. He is responsible for enterprise product development and technology vision, as well as architecture roadmap and alignment for all product lines. Mr. Dawson’s previous roles at Canon Medical included chief architect and senior director of engineering. He has over 20 years of experience developing enterprise software and contributing to industry standards. Prior to joining Canon Medical, he held senior technical roles at enterprise software companies in the financial services and retail industries. Mr. Dawson received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa.
Vice President, Human Resources
Sarah Wandschneider is the Vice President of Human Resources at Canon Medical. She brings to her role over 25 years of broad HR knowledge and experience developing and leading human resources and organizational effectiveness strategies, teams, and services. Prior to joining Canon Medical, Sarah lead the HR team at Walker Methodist Senior Living as their Chief Human Resources Officer and held executive and leadership positions at Affinity Plus, the Science Museum of Minnesota, C.H. Robinson, Deluxe Corporation and Cabela’s Corporate Office.
Sarah prides herself on building productive relationships and high performing teams to work collaboratively with leaders and team members and drive transformational change through HR systems and metrics; total rewards programs; strategic workforce planning; talent acquisition, and leadership development. A champion of organizational culture, she believes in the importance and impact of a servant leadership model to achieve organizational results. Sarah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in education from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and a Masters in Human Resources Management from Ottawa University, Kansas City.
Vice President, Enterprise Imaging
Jeff Hendrikse is the vice president of Enterprise Imaging for Canon Medical Informatics, Inc., He is responsible for the product management function for Canon Medical’s Enterprise Imaging portfolio. Mr. Hendrikse’s previous roles at Canon Medical include Director of Enterprise Imaging, and Product Line Director for Data Management. He has over 25 years of experience in product management and business development in the healthcare IT market. Prior to joining Canon Medical, Mr. Hendrikse was vice president of global business development for Karos Health, which was acquired by Canon Medical in 2016. Mr. Hendrikse holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Waterloo.
Managing Director, EMEA
Marcel Lantinga is the Managing Director of Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Canon Medical Informatics, Inc. He finished his education for radiographer in 1996 at the Free University Medical Center (VUmc, Amsterdam, The Netherlands) where he specialized in MRI technology. In 2000, he joined Oldelft Benelux (Netherlands, since 2012 part of the Canon Group) in a sales position for all radiology X-ray and healthcare IT systems.
Prior to taking on his role as Managing Director, Mr. Lantinga held different sales related positions in the company, and was involved in the post-acquisition merger between the different Toshiba/Canon companies in Europe. In 2018, Mr. Lantinga was charged with leading and building Canon Medical’s Europe, Middle East and Africa market, which is dedicated to enterprise imaging.
General Manager, Australia/New Zealand
Earl Blessing is the General Manager of Australia/New Zealand for Canon Medical Informatics, Inc. His remit includes business development, customer satisfaction and program delivery within ANZ and APAC.
Earl joined Canon Medical in February of 2021. His background is in the implementation of Electronic Medical Records solutions across the US, Middle East, Canada and Australia over the past 20 years. His clinical background includes 10 years as a paramedic.
In his career, he has served as a hospital CIO and has received credentials including Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) from CHIME, Certified Digital Health – Executive and Project Management Professional.
